What is Okta FastPass?
Okta FastPass is a passwordless authenticator built into Okta Verify. It binds the credential to the user’s device and unlocks it with a fingerprint or face, so there is no password to phish, reuse or reset.
Can we go fully passwordless?
Yes. Okta took its own 7,000+ person workforce to passwordless sign-in for every internal workforce app using FastPass. We follow the same order: new apps passwordless from day one, then legacy apps in planned phases.
Will users get locked out during the rollout?
No. We run policies in a pilot group first, confirm enrollment and recovery work, and only then enforce company-wide. Users keep a supported fallback until they are enrolled.
Does FastPass work with our existing apps?
FastPass works with thousands of apps in the Okta Integration Network. We connect your apps through the network and plan a separate path for any legacy app that needs it.
Do we need Okta Device Access or an MDM?
Not to start. FastPass runs on managed and unmanaged devices. If you use Jamf, Kandji or Intune, we connect it so device posture becomes part of every sign-in decision.
