How to Buy Email Encryption for Exchange
Setup is a two-stage process. First, we place the order on your behalf — you cannot purchase this service directly through Microsofts portal. Second, we configure the service and tie it into your Exchange Online environment. You receive a separate portal to manage your own encryption rules going forward.
Important: This service is hosted by Proofpoint Essentials but all orders must go through an authorized reseller. It is not available via any Microsoft online portal. Iron Cove handles procurement and setup as a single engagement.

They open it, register with the encryption service, and authenticate their identity — this challenge-response step is required by every major encryption provider and cannot be bypassed. Once authenticated, they read and reply through a secure browser-based portal, just like normal email.
99% of enhanced encryption services use challenge-response authentication. There is no way around authorizing who you are and validating the recipient. This is the security model — not a limitation of the product.
