Which plans include email encryption and how does it work?
Email encryption is included in the Advanced, Advanced+, Professional, and Professional+ packages. It is not available in the Business or Business+ tiers. Proofpoint automatically detects sensitive content using AI and encrypts emails before delivery using AES 256-bit encryption. Recipients access encrypted messages through a secure web portal.
Does this work with Yahoo or Gmail email addresses?
No, this service does not work with Gmail or Yahoo addresses. If you want your @gmail address to work with filtering, it will not. A true custom domain is required.
Can I get a discount if I pay annually for Proofpoint Essentials?
We don't offer discounts on Proofpoint products, as our pricing is already the lowest in the USA. Proofpoint doesn't support annual agreements either. However, we provide flexible payment options including quarterly or semi-annual billing to accommodate client preferences.
Does the email archiving meet compliance requirements like SEC-17A?
Essentials Archive does not meet specific archiving rules like SEC-17A. It provides a 10-year retention policy and legal hold functionality, but does not cover many compliance rules and regulations. For specific compliance requirements, please consult with our team to determine if additional solutions are needed.
Do I need to change MX records to use Proofpoint with Microsoft 365?
No, you do not need to change your MX Record to use Proofpoint with Microsoft 365. This is a new feature that streamlines deployment with enhanced Microsoft 365 integration. However, you will need to change your MX records if you're not using Office 365.
Can I limit email encryption to only certain users?
Unfortunately, email encryption is domain-wide and you cannot select just a handful of users. The encryption service applies to all users within your domain.
What are Email Warning Tags and how do they protect my organization?
Email Warning Tags are labels added to messages that alert recipients about potential security issues. They identify external senders, suspicious domains, DMARC policy issues, newly created domains, and other risk factors. This helps users identify phishing attempts. Available exclusively in Plus plans.
